Sometimes, people need help beyond our assistance; for this reason, we have compiled a guide of useful contacts and resources that can help you if you're feeling vulnerable or are in danger.

If you're in danger from physical or sexual abuse, it is important that you call the Police.

United Kingdom
Childline: A free helpline to help you mainly in regards to: abuse (both sexual and physical), bullying (including racism, homophobic behaviour and sexism), family issues, friend dilemmas and pregnancy.
They have trained councillors available 24-7, you can phone them on: 0800 11 11.
Samaritans: They provide confidential emotional support for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or dispair, including those which could lead to suicide. The helpline is free and is available 24-7, you can phone them on: 08457 90 90 90 or if you're in ROI, the number is: 1850 60 90 90 alternatively, feel free to e-mail them by clicking here.
London Lesbian and Gay Switchboard: They provide help and advice to those having issues with their sexuality. They are available every day between 10am and 11pm; you can call them on 020 7837 7324.
Woman's Aid: They provide help and advice to women and children whom are subjected to abuse; click here for their website.
Connexions: The folk at Connexions provide some really useful career and education advice. Their website has some great tips but you can call them in confidence on 080 800 13 2 19.
The Police: If you're in danger from both physical or sexual abuse, you must call the police on 999.
United States
Samaritans USA: They provide confidential emotional support for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or dispair, including those which could lead to suicide. The helpline is free and is available 24-7, you can phone them on: (518) 689 - HOPE (4673).
Teen Line: Their main unique selling point is the fact that their helpline assistants are teenagers themselves; they are there to provide help on a wide range of topics. Their website, which can be found here has lots of advice and such but their helpline is also available on (800) 852-8336 within California and then both (310) 855-4673 and (951) 826-4673 outside of Canada.
